Wir stellen vor: Rain

Heute stellen wir euch einen der wichtigsten südkoreanischen Hallyu-Künstler vor: Jung Ji-hoon geb. 1982 und den meisten bekannt als „Rain“. Wir vom Koyangi-Team finden ihn als Schauspieler toll,  ebenso sind wir von seiner facettenreichen musikalischen Karriere begeistert!

Wann habt ihr Rain zuerst entdeckt? Das allererste Mal haben wir ihn im Drama "Full House" gesehen, eine seiner älteren Produktionen, wir waren aber nicht direkt begeistert….. Erst später, als sein Album „Rainism“ herauskam, ist er in von unserem Koyangi-Radar erfasst worden ;) kekeke. Aus dem Album stammt auch das Lied „Love Story“, das wir super finden, und natürlich die absoluten Klassiker „Rainism“ und „Fresh Woman“ (Witzig: Fresh Woman gehört zu den „misheard lyrics“ und wird oft als „Fresh ramen“ verstanden). 

Unser grösster Rain-Fangirl-Moment kam aber mit Back to the Basic (2010). Wir haben euch bereits ein Lied daraus, „Love Song“ als Video oft he Week vorgestellt. Diese Choreo und die Live-Auftritte…. Klassiker. 

Dieses Lied und "Rainism" werden am meisten von anderen Künstlern imitiert.

Today, we present to you one of South Korea´s most important Hallyu-stars: Jung Ji-hoon, born 1982 and known by most as “Rain”. We love to see him acting and are amazed by his multifaceted musical talent.
 

When did you first discover Rain? In our case, we saw him for the first time in “Full House”, one of his older dramas, but were not exactly….convinced at that point. Only later on, when he released his album “Rainism”, did our Koyangi-radar notice him. :) “Love Story”, a song we love, stems from that album, and also the classics “Rainism” and “Fresh woman” (“Fresh Woman” is one of those misheard lyrics that K-Pop fans are always making fun of! “Fresh Woman” turns into “Fresh Ramen”). 
 

 
Our biggest Rain-fangirl-moment arrived with Rain´s album “Back to the Basic” (2010). A couple of weeks ago, we actually chose one song of that LP, “Love song”, as our Video of the Week. That choreography….those live shows….. kekekeke 

That song and “Rainism” are constantly being covered and imitated by other K-Pop-Artists.

Ein anderes tolles Lied aus diesem Album ist „Hip Song“.                       Another great song from that album is „Hip Song“.

„Pieces by Rain“ ist das aktuellste Album Rains, viele Lieder hat er dabei mit anderen Künstlern zusammen gesungen, z.B. J.Y. Park, Chungha und Jackson Wang (GOT7).

Als Schauspieler war er wie oben erwähnt im Drama „Full House“, später im Jahr 2006 als männliche Hauptrolle im Film „I´m a cyborg but that´s ok“ von Regisseur Park Chan-wook zu sehen. Andere Dramen und Filme, in denen er mitgespielt hat waren R2B: Return to Base (2012), Come back mister (2016) und Welcome 2 Life (2019). Aktuelle entertainment shows mit ihm sind I-Land (2020) und Handout with Yoo (2020). 

In Hollywood ist er vor allem für die Filme „Speed Racer“ (2008) und „Ninja Assassin“ (2009) bekannt.
